Description

The Dark Scroll takes its name from the dark iron finish and the dense scroll ornament that runs across the cornice band, base edge, and double-scroll crown, making this the most heavily decorated gate light lamp in the collection. The lantern suits outdoor gate posts, hotel entrance pillars, garden perimeter posts, and office boundary installations where an assertive ornamental presence is required.

The frame is cast in iron with a dark brown-black finish across the full structure. A double-scroll bracket formation rises from the flat cap to support the finial, flanked by paired outward-curving scrolls. The cornice band and lower base edge carry continuous foliate and scroll relief. The body panels are glazed with transparent glass divided by a grid of narrow glazing bars, allowing the internal light source to be partially visible through the panes. The form draws directly from antique gate lights of the Victorian civic and estate tradition.

Light projects outward through the transparent glass panels with greater directness than frosted or crackle alternatives, casting a clearer pool of illumination at post base level.
