The Finial Cone takes its name from the tapering iron cone that forms its body, a form that narrows from a gold-collared base to a precise tip where three bracket arms radiate outward to suspend the shade above the cone's apex. In a study, bedroom, drawing room, hotel, or office, this base reads as a resolved structural argument, the three-arm bracket making the shade's suspension visible and deliberate rather than concealing it within a conventional post connection.

The iron cone carries a matte dark finish across its full tapered length, the surface absorbing ambient light without reflection and placing the polished gold base collar in sharp material contrast at the cone's lower terminus. The three bracket arms extend from the cone tip at equal angles, their dark iron finish consistent with the cone body, connecting to the shade's inner ring with clean precision.
