The Gold Band takes its name from the wide shallow polished brass cylinder that sits flush against the wall surface via a central dome boss, its form reading as a horizontal band of brass whose open top and bottom edges are its only light-emitting surfaces. In a drawing room, living room, bedroom, hotel, office, or restaurant, this fitting reads as a minimal wall-fixed object whose output is entirely architectural, two focused warm washes rising and falling symmetrically from the cylinder's open edges rather than radiating outward as ambient glow.

The polished brass cylinder carries a high-gloss finish that reflects ambient room light across its curved face, its reflective surface varying in tone as room light conditions change throughout the day. The central dome boss through which the fitting mounts to the wall sits at the cylinder's exact horizontal midpoint, visible as a polished convex detail at the face's centre that reinforces the fitting's bilateral symmetry.
