The Hat Lady takes its name from the most immediately striking element of its silhouette: a wide flat-brim hat crowning a tall, extremely elongated matte black FRP female figure standing in a poised profile pose, one arm raised to elbow height with an open palm presenting a single frosted white globe held at face level, functioning as a room light lamp in which a single concentrated light source is made monumental by the sculptural presence of the figure holding it. It suits hotels, living rooms, drawing rooms, offices, and dining areas where a floor lamp is required to read as a statement figurative work of the highest formal elegance.

The figure is cast from FRP in matte black throughout, with a smoothly finished surface that emphasises the extreme attenuation of the limbs, waist, and neck.
