The Ivory Post takes its name from the slender white tapered column that forms its base, a clean conical form that rises from a narrow foot through a gold collar fitting before connecting to the shade above. In a study, bedroom, hotel room, or office, this lamp reads as quietly authoritative, its pale body and warm gold hardware delivering a tonal pairing that suits both neutral and richly coloured room schemes without adjustment.

The iron column carries a smooth matte white finish that holds its tone evenly under both warm and cool ambient light, neither yellowing under tungsten nor appearing stark under daylight. The gold collar at the column's crown is polished rather than brushed, producing a reflective band that catches room light and introduces a warm accent at the lamp's narrowest point. The tapered white cloth shade is lined with a polished gold interior that redirects light downward with warm tonal richness.
