Description

The Slit Shade takes its name from the rows of horizontal rectangular perforations cut into the surface of its wide gold aluminium drum shade, which allow light to escape laterally in fine bright lines across the surrounding walls while the shade itself reads as a solid gold cylinder from a distance, functioning as a room light lamp with a distinctive patterned wall output. It suits study rooms, offices, living rooms, and hotels where a floor lamp is required to deliver both ambient illumination and a decorative light effect on surrounding surfaces.

The drum shade is fabricated from aluminium with a brushed gold finish, its cylindrical body perforated with staggered rows of short horizontal slot cuts distributed evenly across the full circumference. The stem is fabricated from metal with a matching brushed gold finish, rising from a flat circular weighted disc base that sits flush to the floor.

Light is emitted downward from the open base of the drum shade as a direct pool, and laterally through the horizontal slot perforations as a stand light, casting a repeating pattern of fine bright lines across living room and study room walls and creating layered ambient output from a single floor position.
