Is the bell the only part that lights up?Yes. The bulb sits in the clear ribbed bell, and the coloured beads above catch some of its light rather than glowing from inside.
Will Jade Chime fit a narrow hallway?At 150mm across it keeps clear of walls, but its 870mm length needs a ceiling of about 2.6m where people walk beneath.
How is Jade Chime different from Ruby Chime?Jade Chime carries a green bead and an amber top ball, while Ruby Chime swaps in a deep red bead and a grey top ball.
Can I hang a cluster of them?Yes. Three at staggered heights make a good cluster over a console or a stair landing. Keep about 250mm between them.
Did You Know Fact About The CategoryFor centuries, the word jade covered two different stones. In 1863 the French mineralogist Alexis Damour showed that what was sold as jade was either nephrite or jadeite, two distinct minerals. Nephrite was the jade of ancient China, while jadeite, the brighter green stone, reached the Chinese court in quantity only in the 18th century, carried overland from Burma.

Jade Chime threads a run of glass beads down a single line, a green bead at its heart, and ends in a ribbed glass bell like the last note of a chime. This beaded pendant light suits a bedside, a stairwell, a hallway or a hotel corridor.
From the top, a textured amber ball sits over an ash grey spindle, a ribbed green ball, a small smoked bead, a clear textured spindle and a ribbed amber ball, each parted by gold-finish metal collars. A flared gold collar holds the clear ribbed bell shade. This glass bead pendant is 150mm across and 870mm in fitted height.
An E14 bulb sits inside the clear bell, so the ribbing spreads the light downward in fine lines while the beads above stay as colour. Hung singly beside a bed, it works as a bedside pendant light with a tall, slim outline.
