Does the curved rod make it hang off-centre?The rod bends out and back, so the shade hangs roughly below the ceiling point. Allow a little extra side clearance for the curve.
What is a G4 bulb?A small two-pin capsule bulb. It is not included, so please confirm the wattage limit with us before buying one.
Can the rod be bent to a different shape?No, the curve is fixed. Bending it could damage the finish and the wiring inside.
How does Swan Neck differ from Amber Foxglove?Swan Neck ends in a wide, shallow shade, while Amber Foxglove has a deeper bell and takes a larger E27 bulb.
Did You Know Fact About The CategoryIn 1859 Louis Pasteur boiled broth in flasks whose necks he had drawn out into a long S-shaped curve. Air could enter, but dust and microbes settled in the bend and never reached the liquid, so the broth stayed clear. When he snapped the neck off, it soon spoiled. Swan Neck curves a slim gold rod into an S, the long neck of a swan bending towards the water, and ends in a wide amber glass shade. This amber pendant light suits a dining nook, a bedside, a cafe counter or a reading corner.
The rod is gold-finish metal, set with gold beads and a ribbed amber glass ball near the top. At its lower end an amber glass teardrop sits above a wide, shallow ribbed amber shade. This gold rod pendant measures 200mm across and 540mm in fitted height, with a G4 bulb holder.
The G4 bulb sits low in the fitting, so light spills down and outward through the shallow ribbed shade in a warm amber pool. Over a small table, it works as a table pendant light that keeps the glow close to the surface.
