What's the minimum ceiling height needed for Borealis to work?Borealis is really built for high ceiling spaces - we recommend at least 12-15 feet of clearance, but if you can get a little more than that (20+ feet, ideally), it really comes alive. That long crystal stuff needs to have some serious drop to get that cascading effect going.
Is this thing going to shake apart on a busy commercial space like a mall or hotel?Absolutely not - we built Borealis to last, and the metal frame and super-long crystal strands are all reinforced so it can handle the crowds and the vibrations. It even comes with special mounts to handle those super-high ceiling spaces.
How do I stop Borealis from overwhelming my residential staircase? The key word is 'scale'. In a residential duplex, Borealis needs to be the showstopper - keep the walls and railings really simple, and try to keep the rest of the decor pretty minimal too. Don't hide the thing under a bunch of clutter - let it be the focal point. And trust us, it'll be.
Can I clean and maintain this thing without hiring a pro?For those spaces that are way above your head (15+ feet, we mean), yeah, it's probably best to call in the pros to clean it out once a year. But on the bright side, K9 crystal is pretty low-maintenance - it tends to resist dust way more than regular glass, and the long strand thing makes it pretty easy to get individual crystals out if you need to. Just check the metal frame every now and then and you're good to go.
When was the combination of a golden finish and crystal in chandeliers first popularized? The aurora borealis - that's the natural light show that Borealis is named after - happens when charged particles from the sun collide with the Earth's atmosphere. And what does that look like? Well, basically a big ol' light show in the sky, with the light cascading downwards in these beautiful curtains. It's not just the colours that make it so visually striking - it's also the way that light appears to move downwards from high up, creating a real sense of depth. That's kind of what Borealis chandelier does, too: it uses the same principle, with long strands of crystal creating vertical layers of light that cascade down through the space, just like the aurora. It's like nature's light show, remade in crystal and engineering.

A statement piece for contemporary and traditional rooms alike, built from materials chosen to last.

You can't just hang a chandelier in a room and expect it to stand out - that's not where Borealis fits in. This thing wants to fill a staircase or duplex void with crystal that turns the height of the space into a real spectacle.

Long strands of K9 crystal hang from a metal frame, which is actually kind of a clever trick - each strand acts like a little dance partner, moving downwards in a choreographed rhythm. As the light catches each strand at different heights, you get this really beautiful cascading effect that draws you in. Even when it's just sitting there unlit (which it can do, and still look pretty cool - think chandelier, but reimagined for a really tall space), it still feels like some kind of art installation. Put it in a duplex staircase or hotel atrium and watch it transform empty space into a real focal point.

As soon as you turn the thing on, though, that's a whole different story. The K9 crystal strands turn into columns of light that just fill the place with this amazing layered, dynamic light that can span multiple floors. It's hard not to stare at it - grand, theatrical, impossible to ignore. And that's exactly what makes Borealis so perfect for restaurants, hotels and anyone who wants to add a bit of drama to their space.

It scales up to fit the architecture, rather than trying to shrink away from it - vertical drama, for spaces that refuse to be ordinary.
