Can it be installed over a kitchen island?Yes, its 300mm width and long body suit an island, and the downward light helps with everyday tasks. Allow clear headroom for people standing and moving around it.
Does dust collect inside the body?Yes, the upward-facing interior can gather dust over time. A quick check and wipe every few weeks keeps the light output clean.
Will it look right in a room with a lower ceiling? Its slim profile keeps it visually light, but allow for the suspension length. In lower rooms, hang it over a table where no one walks underneath.
Is it good for task lighting? It focuses more light downward than open designs, so it works for dining, homework or casual kitchen tasks. For detailed work, add dedicated task lights.
Did You Know Fact About The CategoryThe word canoe comes from the Spanish canoa, borrowed from the Taino people of the Caribbean, and was one of the first words Europeans took from the Americas. The oldest known boat in the world, the Pesse canoe found in the Netherlands, is a dugout carved from a pine log around 8000 BC.

Deep, rounded sides and an elongated shape give The Canoe the lines of a small boat, its rim of textured acrylic lined with a crystal-look inner strip. It suits a Dining Area, a Kitchen, a Living Room, Hotels and Restaurants.
Moulded acrylic forms the rim and inner strip, suspended on fine wires from a gold finished metal ceiling plate. The fitting is 1000mm long and 300mm wide, with in-built LED.
Its deeper body directs more light downward than an open ring, so the table below is well lit while the textured rim sparkles along its length.
