Can the shade angle be adjusted? The shade sits on a side arm, as pictured; whether it tilts further depends on the fitting, so check with your retailer.
Is pleated fabric harder to clean?Pleats trap dust in their folds, so brush along each pleat rather than across it. A brush attachment on a vacuum set to low also works.
Would it fit a heritage bedroom?Yes, the turned column and pleated shade suit heritage and traditional bedrooms, especially with dark wood furniture.
Will it light a book in bed?Angled toward the bed, it gives comfortable reading light; choose a warm white E27 bulb of suitable brightness for the room.
Did You Know Fact About The CategoryThe Lewis Chessmen, a set of 12th-century chess pieces carved mostly from walrus ivory, were found on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland in 1831. Most are now held by the British Museum, and their glum-faced kings and shield-biting warders are among the best-known medieval game pieces.

A turned column with rounded collars, like a carved chess piece, supports the angled shade of The Chessman. Shown beside a bed, it suits a Bed Room, a Living Room, a Drawing Room, an Office corner and Hotels.
Metal forms the turned column, arm and round base in an antique bronze finish, with a pleated fabric shade tilted on the arm. It stands 1580mm tall and 480mm wide and takes one E27 bulb.
The tilted shade angles light down and outward toward a bed or chair, and the pleats let a warm glow through their folds.
