Can the ceiling plate sit off-centre from the table?The plate needs to sit over the electrical point, so position that point centrally above the table during planning. Moving it later means rewiring.
Are the acrylic edges fragile?Acrylic is shatter resistant, but thin edges can chip if knocked hard. Handle the pieces gently during cleaning and installation.
Does it suit a traditional room?Its broken-ice outline is contemporary, but the gold band gives it warmth, so it can bridge a modern light and a classic room with gilded mirrors or mouldings.
Does the uneven edge affect the light?Yes, the irregular edges scatter light in different directions, creating a livelier outline compared with a smooth ring.

Jagged, irregular acrylic pieces ring the oval of The Floe like drifting ice floes, held together by a polished gold band. Hang it over a Dining Area table, in a Living Room or Drawing Room, a Bed Room or in Restaurants.
A gold finished metal band runs round the oval, carrying the broken-edge acrylic pieces, with fine wires rising to a long ceiling plate. The fitting measures 1000mm by 300mm, lit by in-built LED.
When on, light catches the uneven edges of every piece, so the outline flickers with highlights while the gold band draws a clean line through the middle.
