Is it suitable for a stair wall?Yes, its tall, slim profile suits stair walls and landings, where several can follow the rise. Place it where people will not brush past the projecting glass.
Can the glass cup be replaced if it breaks?Ask your retailer about spare glass before you buy, so you know a replacement is available if an accident happens.
Will it work on a stair wall?The mix of clear textured glass and turned brass has a vintage, almost Art Deco feel. It suits heritage homes, cafe-style dining areas and eclectic interiors.
Will I see the bulb through the glass?Yes, the glass is clear, so choose a bulb you are happy to look at, such as a decorative globe or vintage-style lamp. A frosted bulb calms glare but dulls the raised pattern.
Did You Know Fact About The CategoryHobnails were short nails with thick heads driven into the soles of heavy boots for grip and wear, used widely by soldiers, miners and farm workers until rubber soles took over in the 20th century. Glassware with rows of raised knobs borrowed the name because the pattern resembles a sole studded with nail heads.

Raised, rounded bumps cover the clear glass cup of The Hobnail, catching light like beads of water. Restaurants, Staircase walls, the Drawing Room, Dining Area and Bed Room all gain sparkle from it.
The antique brass stem is turned into a series of rings and tapers to a pointed tip, rising from a round wall plate to cradle the glass. It stands 400mm tall and 200mm wide, taking one E27 bulb.
After dark, the bulb shows through the clear glass and the raised pattern scatters bright points and patterned shadows across the wall, a jewel-like effect rather than a broad wash.
