Does it work on a textured wall?Yes, but the shadow pattern shows most clearly on a smooth, light-coloured wall. On heavy texture, the grid looks less defined.
Can the cylinder be cleaned with water?Keep to a dry brush or cloth, as moisture can collect in the pattern, and always let the bulb cool first.
Is it too dramatic for a bedroom? The shadow pattern is striking, so it suits feature walls, stairwells and restaurants best. In a bedroom, a lower-output bulb keeps the effect calm.
Can I change the size of the shadows? The shadow grid grows larger as the wall gets further from the lattice, and a small, clear bulb gives a sharper pattern than a large frosted one.
Did You Know Fact About The CategoryJali is the pierced stone or wooden lattice screen of Indian architecture, used to let breezes and filtered light into buildings while giving privacy. Some of the finest examples are the marble jalis of the tomb of Salim Chishti at Fatehpur Sikri, completed in the 1580s.

A tall cylinder wrapped in a fine lattice pattern casts a web of shadows across the wall in The Lattice, like light through a carved screen. It suits a Staircase, a Drawing Room, a Living Room, Restaurants and Hotels.

Its materials are metal and glass: an antique brass mount carries a lattice-patterned cylinder trimmed in a dark band at top and bottom. It is 370mm high and 150mm wide, with one E27 holder.

Switched on, the lattice throws a bold grid of light and shadow over the surrounding wall, as the image shows, turning a plain surface into a pattern.
