Description

Gold and white dont always play nicely together, but the Volante CX1912 manages to get along without either one overpowering the other. Thin, twisted glass elements - either matte white or gold-lacquered iron - are suspended from fine wires attached to a rectangular chrome ceiling plate. Each piece is hollow inside, shaped like a flame when its just about to take off - but somehow frozen in mid-flight. As you look at the CX1912 from different angles, its visual depth shifts - one side is all gold, the other all white - and neither one ever seems to fully take over. Under the light from the built-in ceiling downlights, the gold bits warm the air around them while the matte white ones radiate outwards in a soft glow. The end result is more like a dramatic weather system than a standard chandelier - floating, directional, full of life.
