What ceiling height is best for Volante, and is the rectangular plate any good for non-square rooms?The CX1912 does best at ceiling heights between 12 and 20 feet - its suspended elements need some breathing room to really work. The rectangular plate is actually designed for longer rooms - living rooms, hotel corridors, or staircase landings where a round plate just wouldnt fit right. Check the plate orientation when you install the CX1912.
Can the wire lengths be customised for sloped or really high ceilings?Yeah, you can adjust the wire lengths to fit different ceiling geometries - so you can make the suspended field work with sloped, coffered, or double-height ceilings. If you're doing a big project like a duplex or a mall, Lumeils technical team can calibrate the drop to fit your ceiling exactly. Just remember to get a structural load assessment from a licensed engineer before you even start installing.
How does Volante fit in with both modern and classic interior designs?The gold-lacquered bits bring that classic, warm, luxurious feel of a chandelier from another era - formal hotels, traditional drawing rooms, classic lobbies. Gold and white dont always play nicely together, but Volante CX1912 manages to get along without either one overpowering the other. Thin, twisted glass elements - either matte white or gold-lacquered iron - are suspended from fine wires attached to a rectangular chrome ceiling plate. Each piece is hollow inside, shaped like a flame when its just about to take off - but somehow frozen in mid-flight. As you look at the CX1912 from different angles, its visual depth shifts - one side is all gold, the other all white - and neither one ever seems to fully take over. Under the light from the built-in ceiling downlights, the gold bits warm the air around them while the matte white ones radiate outwards in a soft glow. The end result is more like a dramatic weather system than a standard chandelier - floating, directional, full of life.
