Description

The Iron Volute is an outdoor wall lantern named for the large decorative scroll arm that rises from its wall bracket and curls into a complete spiral above the lantern suspension point. The arm terminates at a small ball joint from which the bell-shaped lantern body hangs, with a slender turned finial dropping from the base. As an indoor decorative lights equivalent for outdoor facades, it suits hotel entrances, garden boundary walls, outdoor gates, and office exteriors.

The frame and bracket are constructed entirely from iron in a deep rust-red antique finish with visible surface texture throughout. The lantern body is formed from a domed cap over a widening bell shape, with vertical iron straps dividing the body into panels. Frosted glass panels fill each division, set flush within the iron strap framework.

The frosted glass diffuses light softly downward and outward from the bell body, producing a warm, contained glow at wall height suitable as indoor house lights for covered verandas and porch entries. The downward orientation of the bell focuses ambient light onto the immediate ground plane below, making it well suited to gate entries and hotel porch approaches.
