Is The Iron Volute supplied with a wall backplate, and what is the projection distance of the scroll arm from the wall surface? The wall bracket backplate is visible in the product image and is included as part of the fitting. Confirm the exact projection distance and backplate dimensions from the WMD7902 specification sheet before installation.
Does the rust-red antique finish on The Iron Volute indicate actual surface rust, or is it a factory-applied decorative finish? The rust-red appearance is a factory-applied antique finish simulating aged iron, not active corrosion. The underlying iron is coated to resist further oxidation, though the finish should be inspected periodically in high-humidity outdoor positions.
What bulb type and wattage does The Iron Volute accept, and is the fitting compatible with LED bulbs?Refer to the WMD7902 product specification for base fitting type and maximum wattage. LED compatibility is subject to the fitting type confirmed in the specification sheet.
Is The Iron Volute suitable for installation beside an outdoor staircase or stepped garden entry? The downward-directed warm glow from the bell body provides useful ambient light at low wall height, making it a functional choice as a step light indoor equivalent for covered stair entries, gated steps, and garden staircase walls.

The Iron Volute is an outdoor wall lantern named for the large decorative scroll arm that rises from its wall bracket and curls into a complete spiral above the lantern suspension point. The arm terminates at a small ball joint from which the bell-shaped lantern body hangs, with a slender turned finial dropping from the base. As an indoor decorative lights equivalent for outdoor facades, it suits hotel entrances, garden boundary walls, outdoor gates, and office exteriors.
The frame and bracket are constructed entirely from iron in a deep rust-red antique finish with visible surface texture throughout. The lantern body is formed from a domed cap over a widening bell shape, with vertical iron straps dividing the body into panels. Frosted glass panels fill each division, set flush within the iron strap framework.
The frosted glass diffuses light softly downward and outward from the bell body, producing a warm, contained glow at wall height suitable as indoor house lights for covered verandas and porch entries. The downward orientation of the bell focuses ambient light onto the immediate ground plane below, making it well suited to gate entries and hotel porch approaches.
