The Dark Pendulum

The Dark Pendulum is a wall-mounted indoor decorative light whose name comes from the way its three flat black discs are suspended at staggered intervals along two vertical rods, each positioned as though caught mid-swing along its descent. A slim black arch frame rises above a horizontal wall bracket, from which the two rods continue downward at unequal lengths, the lower rod extending well beyond the arch's base. It suits drawing rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, hotels, and restaurants where asymmetric compositional presence on a wall is the design intention.

The frame, rods, and discs are all finished in a consistent matte black, the material discipline enforcing the compositional reading over any single element. Each disc carries a rear-mounted LED source, its light washing outward from behind the disc face and casting a warm circular halo against the wall surface. The horizontal wall bracket provides the single fixing point from which the full composition is suspended.

Three discrete halos of indoor house lights appear on the wall at the disc positions, each circle of warm light distinct and separated by the dark intervals between them. The matte black surfaces absorb rather than reflect, so the halos register with clarity against any wall finish, light or dark.
