The Open Ring takes its name from the open black iron circular frame that carries no solid face panel, allowing the wall behind to read as the clock background and giving this wall clock a spatial depth that flat-panel clocks cannot achieve. The piece suits living rooms, hotel lobbies, dining areas, drawing rooms, and office receptions where an open, industrial-register wall object is required.

The frame is a single black iron ring with baton hour markers attached to the inner edge at each hour position and a vertical rod from the 12 position to the centre hub. A dark walnut wood shelf segment fills the lower arc of the ring, carrying the numeral 6 and flanking hour markers on its surface. The bronze-toned centre hub carries copper-toned pointed hands. The ring suspends from a small black ball cap fixed to the wall at the 12 position.
