Smoked Melon is a wall-mounted indoor decorative light whose name describes the defining form of its large ribbed glass globe: vertical lobes run continuously from the open base to the crown of the shade, giving its surface the segmented profile of a melon. The globe sits on a brass collar fixed flush to the wall, from which a small brass ball connector descends to carry a vivid red glass pendant sphere at the base of the composition. It suits offices, living rooms, hotels, drawing rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas where a chromatically considered, wall-flush fitting is the design intention.
The globe is formed from smoked grey glass, its tinted surface moderating the filament bulb within while allowing the ribbed lobe structure to read clearly through the glass wall. The brass collar and ball connector are finished in a warm antique brass tone, their compact scale ensuring the transition between the large globe above and the small red pendant below is held precisely on the central vertical axis. The red glass pendant is vivid and fully saturated in tone, its smooth surface contrasting directly with the ribbed smoked globe it hangs beneath.
The filament bulb within the globe casts indoor house lights through the smoked glass as a warm, softened output that diffuses evenly across the ribbed surface. The red glass pendant below does not carry a light source of its own, functioning as a chromatic accent that the light output from the globe above reaches and illuminates from above.
