The Stone Orbit is a wall-mounted indoor decorative light whose name describes the compositional relationship at its core: a single opal white glass sphere positioned off-centre at the upper portion of a tall travertine wall plate, projecting forward from the stone surface as though in a fixed orbital position. The plate is a rounded rectangle in form, its corners fully rounded at top and base, and it mounts flush to the wall as a single continuous stone face. It suits offices, living rooms, hotels, bedrooms, and drawing rooms where a material-led, minimal wall fitting is the design intention.
The wall plate is cut from travertine, its surface carrying the characteristic natural pitting, voids, and warm beige-cream tonal variation of the stone. No two plates will carry an identical surface pattern, the travertine grain and void distribution varying with each individual piece. The opal glass sphere is smooth and white, its surface diffusing the light source within to an even, consistent tone across its full face, in direct contrast to the textured and irregular stone behind it.
The opal sphere delivers indoor house lights as a soft, omnidirectional output, its diffused white surface distributing warmth evenly outward from the fitting. The travertine plate behind the sphere receives a wash of this output across its upper face, the light catching the natural surface texture and casting fine shadow into the stone's voids and pitting.
