About Outdoor Lights
Outdoor lighting is the first thing a guest sees: the gate, the pillars, the façade and the path to the door. Lumeil's outdoor collection includes gate and pillar lights, outdoor wall lamps, façade lights and garden lights for homes, villas and hotels.
Choose by exposure, using the IP rating: IP44 is enough under a covered porch or verandah. Walls, gates and pillars open to monsoon rain need IP65 or higher. Lights set into the ground or near water need IP67 or IP68. Check the rating on each product before you order.
Placement: mount gate and door lights slightly above head height, about 66 to 72 inches (1.7–1.8 m), on both sides of a wide gate. Along a path, space garden lights 6 to 10 ft (1.8–3 m) apart so pools of light just meet.
Brightness: 400 to 800 lumens per fixture is usually enough at an entrance; warm white (2700–3000 K) flatters stone and brick façades.
Every piece ships from Jaipur with delivery across India. Our guide to outdoor lighting has layout ideas.
